Do you love yourself? When you see yourself in the mirror, do you usually say positive things or do you tend to be negative? Most people will focus on the negatives-- their weight, face, hair, legs, skin, or facial features.

Self-love is something that needs to be practiced daily, the same as when learning any other skill like playing an instrument, sports, or speaking a new language. So how can you start to love yourself? Try the daily self-love exercise called the "Mirror Rule" to help you focus on the positive.

  1. The next time you are in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eye, smile, and say something positive like the examples below:

    “I am beautiful/handsome.”
    “I look good today!”
    “I am enough.”
    “I am strong.”
    “I can handle this.”
    “I am amazing.”
“I am thankful to be alive.”

  2. NEVER say anything negative when you look in the mirror. If you catch yourself being critical, stop, smile, and say something positive.

Try the “mirror rule” for 30 days, and you will begin the journey of learning to love yourself.

It’s not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it’s what you whisper to yourself that has the most power!
